We treat each log structure we build as a once in a lifetime opportunity to construct something
spectacular, and that cannot be duplicated. From an Architecture perspective, our log home
designs must first meet three main criteria. The first is strength. Our professional team hand
selects each individual log that will be incorporated into your home. This insures that only logs
with straight grain and no deterioration will be used. The second is Function. This can be
accomplished by fusing your ideas for a floor plan with the latest technology being used in the
modern home. The third criteria is beauty. Our accomplished staff will achieve a structure that
enhances the landscape in which it is built.
To make the building process more enjoyable for you, we have in place remote internet access
which enables us to keep you up to date on the progress of your home.
Before you come to us with your log home designs, we suggest you look at the home you are
living in now and go room by room, and make a list of things you like or dislike about it. Another
suggestion is to gather photos of different log homes that appeal to you. In most cases this will
be a good start for your drawings. If you do any rough sketches, try to spell out room sizes.
Don't worry about the outside dimensions at first. Keep in mind that frame plan books are a
good place to get ideas and we can easily modify them to work with log.
When you visit us, you will be provided a detailed explanation of our log joinery and why it is
superior to other forms of log construction. We will explain R-values and the reason why cedar is
the best when it comes to thermal mass and heat storage. We will show you specifics on how we
install doors and windows and how we allow for movement in log walls. We will give you
detailed information on our poured wall and masonry
foundations. We will explain to you how the process
works from on-site visit of your building site to
completed project.
Once you've selected us to build your home, we will
begin the design phase. A deposit will be required at
this time. When you've chosen a floor plan, our
Architect/design staff can finalize your drawings. We
have both architects and engineers available for areas
that require their expertise.
